Plenty of wonderful options to ride short or longer sections along the Great Harbour Way; there is a ride to suit almost everyone. Many sections can be reached or returned from by public transport, and you can put your bike on the bus or train. We we will tell you where you can hire a bike if you don’t have one with you.
Choose a ride based on the time you have. Each ride option includes the distance, walking time, highlights, starting point and options for getting there and back.
Wonderful museums including Te Papa, glorious galleries, lovely lagoons, waterfront sculptures, cafes and restaurants, easy access to the Wellington city centre.
beaches – harbour views – Oriental Bay cafes – boat sheds – spotting dolphins or orcas in the harbour. This route has lots to offer. Walk as far as you want and take the bus back.
The Waka-shaped foot & cycle bridge, historic information along the route, number of rest places, read about the restoring the bird and sea life. Wonderful views over the harbour.
